Privacy Policy & Text Messaging Terms

Cross Timbers Poll is operated by Cross Timbers Poll LLC ("Cross Timbers Poll," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through crosstimberspoll.org, our surveys and our text messages, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Sign-up information. If you use our sign-up form, we collect your name, email address and, if you provide it, your mobile phone number and your text-message consent.
- Survey responses. When you take one of our surveys, we collect your answers, including demographic questions such as age range, party registration and ZIP code.
- Public voter records. To invite a representative sample of Oklahomans to our surveys, we may use publicly available voter registration records, along with phone numbers matched to those records by a licensed data provider. Oklahoma law permits use of these records by public opinion pollsters.
- Basic technical data. Our website host and form and survey providers may log standard technical information such as IP address and browser type. We use Plausible, a privacy-focused analytics service, to measure how the site is used (pages viewed, referring sites, country, device type, and interactions such as scrolling and use of the sign-up form). Plausible does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
How we use information
- To send the updates and survey invitations you asked for, or that we are permitted to send.
- To conduct and publish public opinion research. We publish results only in aggregate. We never publish or disclose how any individual answered a survey.
- To check the quality of our samples and remove duplicate or invalid responses.
- To respond to your questions and honor opt-out requests.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not work for candidates, campaigns, parties or political committees, and we do not share your information with them.
Text messaging
If you opt in, or if we contact you as part of a survey sample, you may receive text messages from Cross Timbers Poll, such as survey invitations and poll updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
- To stop receiving texts, reply STOP at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts unless you opt in again.
- For help, reply HELP or email contact@crosstimberspoll.org.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared by us with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties unless required by law. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Service providers that deliver our messages and process our forms on our behalf may use the information only to provide those services to us.
How we share information
We share personal information only with service providers that help us operate, such as our website host, form processor, survey platform, email provider and text-messaging platform, and only as needed for them to provide their services. We may also disclose information if required by law. Published poll results contain only aggregate, de-identified data.
Retention and security
We keep sign-up information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep survey response data only as long as needed to conduct, verify and archive our research, stored without names or contact details. We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from email updates using the link in any email, stop text messages by replying STOP, or ask us to access, correct or delete your information by emailing contact@crosstimberspoll.org.
Children
Our surveys and updates are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, with a new effective date.
